A DAY LATER, ASSESSING THE DAMAGE
Glass shards glinted in the sun on the sidewalk outside the 7-11 on Light Street at the Inner Harbor.
"We are closed today 4/26/15. Sorry for the inconvenience,' said a makeshift sign taped to cardboard on the door where the glass had been shattered.
Above the door was a softball-sized hole in the glass storefront.
Inspecting the damage, a worker for the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore said the smashed glass -- sustained during Saturday night's demonstration related to the death of Freddie Gray-- struck him as oddly random.
It looked like the path of a tornado -- one store hit but the surrounding ones, including a Dunkin' Donuts and Royal Farms convenience store, left untouched.
The worker declined to be named because he said he was not authorized to speak publicly.
