“Movie 43,” a movie so horrible that it never seems to have opened in Baltimore (if it did, it escaped general notice), won perhaps the least-coveted award in Hollywood this weekend – the Razzie as Worst Picture of the Year. A sex farce in which, inexplicably, gobs of big-name agreed to appear (Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts, Richard Gere and Hugh Jackman, to name just a few), “Movie 43” beat out such other paragons of big-screen awfulness as “The Lone Ranger,” Adam Sandler’s “Grown-Ups 2,” “A Medea Christmas” and Jaden and Will Smith’s “After Earth” to earn top honors at the 34th annual Razzies ceremony, held Saturday night just two blocks west of the Dolby Theatre (where the Oscars are being handed out today). Other honored wretchedness included Jaden Smith as Worst Actor, for “After Earth” (his dad, Will, earned a Worst Supporting Actor Razzie for the same film) and Tyler Perry as Worst Actress for “A Media Christmas.” Kim Kardashian walked away with Worst Supporting Actress dishonors, for “Tyler Perry’s ‘Temptation.’” Sympathies go out to anyone who actually saw any of these movies…
The Hollywood ReporterOver 500 people from the visual effects community participated in a rally on Hollywood Blvd. that started at 1 p.m. PT to raise awareness of the factors damaging its troubled business and offer a proposed solution. At the demonstration, many were donning green -- the color of a greenscreen -- which has become symbolic of the issues protestors are facing.

The Hollywood ReporterLos Angeles has been hit by rain over the past few days, with many fearing that the inclement weather could continue into Oscar Sunday, creating a wet and messy red carpet. However, it seems like the rain will taper off in time for arrivals at the awards show.
